Abstract:

The aesthetic of soft tissue and related treatment have been widely concerned in clinical practice. The so-called “black triangle” resulting from the loss of papilla between maxillary anterior teeth is a common aesthetic problem. The clinical procedures are limited by the local anatomy and the destruction degree，due to which interdisciplinary approach is usually necessary. The purpose of this article is to provide experience for the clinical application of interdisciplinary approach to solve aesthetic problems due to the loss of papilla between maxillary anterior teeth，by presenting and analyzing a case in which the “black triangle” defect was managed successfully by reconstructing the lost maxillary anterior gingival papilla through periodontal mucogingival surgical technique combined with crown restoration.
